April is certainly a busy month in the college admissions and enrollment management world marking not only the height of the anticipation of where the next class will enroll for 2015/2016, but also a slew of conferences. Our team is currently attending the 101st annual AACRAO meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. For over 100 years, AACRAO “has positioned itself as a recognized source for information on student admissions, academic records, international education, and enrollment management.”
Highlights of the conference include the keynote and closing talks:
Scott Simon, the host of Weekend Edition Saturday on NPR and Need to Know on PBS, as well as a writer and novelist, will be the opening plenary presenter on Sunday, April 12, 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm. His talk should definitely be on everyone’s short list to attend. The Washington Post has described Scott’ s NPR show as “the most literate, witty, moving, and just plain interesting news show on any dial,” and by Brett Martin of Time-Out New York “the most eclectic, intelligent two hours of broadcasting on the airwaves.”
Madeleine Albright, the Former U.S. Secretary of State and Chair of Albright Stonebridge Group and Albright Capital Management LLC, will be the closing plenary presenter on Wednesday April 15, 11:45 am – 12:45 pm. President Obama awarded Dr. Albright with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.
